Simple enough for anyone with experience but people new to the Motorola MC3190 or similar devices may not be aware how to do this.
You need to navigate to the "Tools" menu. You can either use the touch screen on your device or, in the case of the WT 4090 which does not have a touch screen, you'll need to press ALT + ALT. (This is actually 4 key presses: Blue, CTRL(Tab), Blue, CTRL(Tab))
Select the "Admin Login" option. The default password is "symbol" (WT4090 requires you to press either the grey or orange button before each letter of the password) but this password may have been changed if your AppCenter was set up by a third party. You will then need to select the "Tools" option again and select the "Exit" option. (Not "Logout" - this option will simply return you back to the AppCenter launch menu)
Update 14th July 2014: It seems on newer devices (CE7) you need to select ALT + CTRL (so on double tap that's 3 key presses: Blue, CTRL, CTRL.)
